8 KM return Hike or Bike from Cathedral Grove along far side of Cameron Lake.
Easy terrain, but long walk.
This cache is located near a small but pleasant beach on the backside of Cameron Lake. This beach is directly below the prominent trestle that you can see from the highway. There is a path up to the trestle for those who are curious, but it is very steep and loose.
The walk (or ride) is pleasant and takes you past a small number of quaint little cabins. The locals are friendly, but tend to be suspicious of your motives.
Mapsource shows Chalet Road traversing the entire length of the lake, but the road/trail completely disappears just past the cache location. Also, access to the Parksville end of this side is privately controlled.
Park at the gate, but do not block access.
Terrain rating of 3 is generated solely by distance. This road is as flat and nice as they make them.
Cache is located between road and beach in obvious geo-location.
