5-10 minute walk through "podocarp forest of giants" along a well maintained track to a historic reserve and grave site. Also a scenic reserve it is home to many native and visiting birds
Start point is from a car park approx 10kms north of Taupo on SH5 towards Napier. Car park is just a large pull-in from the highway which is busy and fast so watch kids and dogs coming and going from the car!
Cache is in a standard lunch-box size plastic container near (but not in) the grave yard
Contains a few silly toys and a tin race car for the first to find, as well as the usual log book and pencil
Along the track there is a fork to a 30mins forest loop walk, well worth doing but this path is not suitable for push chairs and can be muddy, be prepared to scramble up a bank or two!
