This cache is located right off Exit 15A of the NYS Thruway near
the Bridge Street bridge in Ramapo, NY. There’s a parking spot
right before the bridge if you just want to grab it and dash. If
you have extra time you can park at the nearby Joseph T. St.
Lawrence Sports & Recreation Center and explore the nearby
trails.
This actual cache is a hard plastic container about the size of
a coffee cup, but has been carefully spray painted to blend in with
the surrounding environment & structure. There’s a small log
inside with two tiny pencils and small items for trade. This cache
may be harder to find in winter if there’s been a lot of snow, but
you should still be able to find it.
There usually aren’t that many people in the area, but just be
careful. It’s not uncommon for people to stand on the bridge and
enjoy the scenery. Be sure to screw the lid back on the cache
tightly so it doesn’t get wet. Please put the cache back exactly as
you found it.
I work right around the corner from this cache so maybe I’ll see
you there!
Be sure to check out the Torne Valley Cache (GCZ1W1) which is
less than a half mile away. It’s a good one! It’s a quick 20 minute
walk to the site.
If you want a really adventurous hike, check out the Ramapo
Torne Cache (GCAEBE) which takes you up into the Ramapo Mountains.
It’s a 4-Star terrain hike so be prepared.
