Geocache Description:

This is a HAT PIN THEMED cache.

Yes that's right this cache has a HAT PIN EXCHANGE THEME so bring along a hat pin if you want to swap.
The cache is a small cylindrical screw top container (250ml).
Hat pin collecting is a hobby for many travellers so we thought why not have a swap cache. This rest area is popular with caravaners and motorhomes for a convenient overnight stop.

This rest area was provided by the local Rotary club, and within you can see a tombstone and tribute plaque for John and Mary Newby some inspirational pioneer settlers of the local area.
John and Mary founded the 1st centre of commerce in the district in 1848 setting up the 1st General Store and Blacksmith shop. They also established the areas 1st Dairy farm and were instrumental in seeing the advancement of education in the area and the 1st schools in the district open. Truly inspirational aussies.

Also a prize for the lucky FTF is a NEW non activated trackable sextant navigational Geopin- so if you are the lucky FTF it's yours to take you can then log on and register it and start it off somewhere of your choosing.

Warning- this rest area can get pretty busy so stealth is required!!!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO RED NINJA FOR THE FTF ON THIS CACHE!!!!
