The road along side these woods can be very busy, and as with all woods there are things that you can trip up or slip on. Please keep an eye on children. It is also a popular dog walking area, so please beware of muggles.
Milber and Ben Stedham woods were originally part of the Haccombe House estate which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. They are now a community area with varied wildlife and some mature trees aged between 3 - 400 years old one of which is the oak tree sited between the two woods. The main path through was at one time a roman road built by the Second Augustan Legion commanded by General Flavious Vespasianus.
