Geocache Description:

Marhaba!
Welcome to
Jebel Meeya Khamsa

Jebel Khamsa Meeya

The name for this cache was inspired by the rusty old sign located at the top the ridge. The views from the top are well worth the climb on a clear day.

The general area is isolated and is not a place to be tackled without adequate preparation. This cache is several kilometers from the nearest road and is probably one of the most remote caches in Qatar (along with Neboeye). A four-wheel drive vehicle with adequate ground clearance is essential. It is also advisable to not venture into this area alone (travelling with at least 2 vehicles is strongly recommended). The normal precautions of carrying plenty of water and other essential supplies obviously goes without saying.

Thanks go to Cincol and Jimbo3772 for their help in hiding this cache.

Updated 27 July 2012

This cache is close to a military artillary range.

When approaching from the north, follow the powerline road from Bu Samra to the small farm (WPT1) to the east of the range. Then stay on the well worn track that will take you to WPT2. The track then makes a slight turn to the southeast passes close to the site of the cache.

The track from the south is less well defined and the terrain is littered with lots of sharp rocks and soft sand drifts. Powerline Series #5 () provides a good starting point target to the south if contempating a circular route.
