Geocache Description:

A small cache on a new walkway to a small beach

Auckland City Council have created a series of walkways including stairs and lookout platforms down to a series of small Herne bay beaches. All these beaches are small and private. This walkway has many stairs leading down to an elevated viewing platform that has a view up the inner harbour, then more stairs that take you to the waters edge. This is a quiet peaceful spot to catch the last rays of the sun. The GPS signal is degraded by a canopy of pouhutakawa trees that cling to the cliff above. You are looking for a 200ml sistema container that has a small log book and pencil. This cache is on the east side of the walkway, so no need to risk life and limb on the sea side of the walkway.
