Geocache Description:

I've been looking for for a good tree that would allow a good climb since I started geocaching. This one is pretty good.

NG picture For several years now, I've been keeping
my eyes open for a tree that is actually
climbable for a nontechnical climber, and
that would allow a fairly high hide.
I was scouting out the "Nisene Hideout",
when I walked by the tree, that I thought
fit the bill..

You do not actually have to climb
this Redwood,
pictured here,
but the the tree
pictured down below.

This picture was taken by
National Geographic, it
took a major technical effort to
take a picture of a tree this height

It is such a special picture, that I had
to include it.

Read about the photographing of this tree at:

The photographing of this tree

the tree to climb When I hid the cache,
I only went up about 30 feet.
I intend to hide it higher
when I'm not as tired.
Warning, if you don't use ropes ( I didn't)
spread your weight out over at
least 2 limbs. Take your time.

Climb at your own risk!

This picture was taken with my
3.2 Megapixel phone camera.
If you can get a better picture,
with you  in it, include it!

As you can see, I selected
this tree because of the
numerous standing and holding
branches. It still takes courage
and you can't trust some of the
older branches.
bottom of tree You can't miss this tree,
it is right along the path to the
Nisene hideout

EXTRA CHALLENGE!

If you want to move the blue waterproof
container to the next higher branch that
the attachment will loop around, feel free.
But just move it to the next branch
higher that the string reaches around.  It
attaches by a simple loop around a
branch.  If you don't want to raise it,
you can simply take off the lid and sign it
right there.

*** Congratulations to KendraH and company for the FTF on this fun adventure!***
