Geocache Description:

Come join us and help clean up Morrow Mountain State Park. This has been an event filled weekend, so let's make sure we leave the park in better shape than we found it. More details to follow as we are securing a park project for this event.

We will meet at Shelter C at 9am, fresh doughnuts will be provided. Come collect trash and waypoint-mark fallen trees for the Park.

In association with the State Park we have come up with chance to help clean the park up and help them out in another way... use your GPS to waypoint locations of trees that have fallen across their trails....

Oh, and get a nice Sunday morning hike in the process :)

Bring your GPS and park map and choose a trail to walk...as far as you want. Waypoint tree location and mark the map with approximate location. We will also provide trash bags for trash collection, and we do recommend that you bring gloves to protect your handsWe will meet at Shelter C, chat a bit,eat and then set out on one of four trails...your choice, and as long as you want along each trail. Choose the Hattaway Mountain Trail (2.0 miles, strenuous), Fall Mountain Trail (4.0 miles, moderate) or the Long Loop Bridleway (9.3miles, moderate). The Quarry Trail (0.6miles, easy) is also an option, but is unlikely to have trees down. Feel free to break off and set back along the trail at your pace. I will accept waypoints after the event to pass back to the Park for them to better target tree clearing.

So come on out Sunday Morning at 9am, meet at grab a doughnut, a Trail Map, a GPS, trash bag and help us clean up a beautiful park.

Trail map is available here.
