As I was hiking along this trail
for the first time I came around the bend and saw the beautiful
open water (what little there is at this time of the year but I
could see what it will be when the water rises) and I had to
reflect on the beauty I saw a little over a week ago at Scooberts
What Happens and Loon Lake, Stays at Loon Lake 2.
There were actually two events one the CITO and
one the party. Since we were cleaning up Scoobert's favorite
campground it was a little self serving but what the heck.
While some of us arrived as early as Thursday the main group showed
up Saturday morning at 10 o'clock to receive their assignments from
Scoobert. We disbursed around the lake picking up trash. This is
what we found.

Of course during the cleanup some snuck off to
get the latest cache activated in the area. It is a beautiful piece
of work and it was hard to figure out how it got up there.
As the evening came we settled
down for dinner which included; stuffed mushrooms, Dr. Zeus stuffed
eggs, the best Grilled Cheese sandwiches I have ever had and the
most unusual Chocolate Cupcake of my life. The weather kept getting
colder and the fire higher. Snow began to fall but the fire kept us
warm. The evening ended under a full moon with a midnight walk to
the lake in the snow. We awoke in the morning to a winter
wonderland as the entire area was blanketed. The weekend couldn't
have been better. So if you missed it you might want to put the
first weekend in October on your schedule and set your Event
Notification to go up to Tahoe and hope to see you next year.
