On the Heaphy track
If you left Nelson at 8.30 pm you could be eating lunch at the cache site at 12.30 pm. The track is well marked and not that difficult but allow an hour to reach the cache site from the car park and 45 minutes for the return. Make sure you also collect ''Heaphy Start'' while you're on the track. The road in is gravel for the last few kms but the good news is that the old fords have been replaced with bridges.
