Danske Gymnastik- og Idrætsforeningers landsstævne, der afholdes hvert 4. år, er et af verdens største idrætsarrangementer. Det hidtil højeste deltagertal er 45.054 ved landsstævnet i 1998 i Silkeborg.
I den anledning var deltagernes gave til miljøet og Silkeborg en skov, der blev plantet i Gødvad - Landsstævneskoven.
Det tager skoven 140 år at optage den CO2-udledning, som landsstævnets energiforbrug medførte – så det er ganske forståeligt, at skoven er en fredsskov, der ikke må fældes uden genplantning.
Træerne og buskene i skoven består af 33 forskellige udvalgte arter, der oprindeligt stammer fra Silkeborgegnen.
Der kan sikkert findes parkeringsmulighed tættere på cachen – men det anbefales at parkere for enden af Bavnehøjvej (waypoint ”start”), hvor der findes en trappe op til skoven , så du får glæde af hele den varierede skovoplevelse.
Ved cachens gemmested kan du gå gennem lyngområdet ud til ”kanten”, hvor der er en storslået udsigt over Silkeborg.
Da jeg var her for at gemme cachen, så jeg en ræv løbe gennem lyngen – de har det godt her og vil sikkert godt dele naturen med dig, når bare du tager hensyn!
Cachen indeholder: JFFC-, FFC-, SFC- og TFC-certifikat, logbog, skrivegrej, stashnote og 10 bytteting

Danish Gymnastics- and Athletic associations hold a national meeting every 4 years and it is one of the greatest sports events i the world. The highest ever number of participants are 45.054 in 1998 in Silkeborg.
On the same occasion the participants' gift to the environment and Silkeborg was a forest that was planted in Gødvad – “Landsstævneskoven” (the national meeting forest).
It takes this forest 140 years to absorb the CO2 emissions as the energy consumption of the national meeting caused - so it is quite understandable that the forest is a protected forests, which may not be felled without replanting.
The trees and bushes in the forest consists of 33 different selected species originally come from Silkeborg district.
There can surely be found parking option closer to the cache - but it is recommended to park at the end of the road Bavnehøjvej (waypoint ”start”) where there is a staircase up to the forest so that you get pleasure of all the varied forest experience.
By the cache hiding place you can go through the heather area off to the "edge" where there is a magnificent view of Silkeborg.
When I was here to hide the cache, I saw a fox running through the heather - they feel good here and will probably share the nature with you when you show consideration for it!
The cache contains: JFFC-, FFC-, SFC- and TFC- certificate, log book, writing set, stash note and 10 small things to barter with.
