Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Hogwarts House Challenge, This is yet another cache based on the Harry Potter series created by J.K. Rowling. This is a multicache located in Terwilliger park. This park is an excellent venue for caching, dog walking, and just adventuring. While making this multi, at times I felt like Tom Riddle did when trying to discover all the secrets of Hogwarts. There's so much hidden in this park to see and find if you just step off the beaten path.

Your challenge here is simply to find all four caches. Each one represents one of the houses of Hogwarts School. To find each successive cache you must solve the puzzle or task set in each cache which will lead to the next one. I've made it possible to solve all the puzzles without reading the books (although it may help and I'd encourage you to do so) but you may have to be sneaky. Note: it is also possible to complete this without the help of google. “Wit beyond measure….” and all that.

For cache items, if possible, please stick to themes related to Harry Potter, magic, trains, cars, etc. Be creative. Leave something you’d like to find.

Original contents of caches: Only the last cache contains a log book and any swag. The final cache contains: log book and pencil, a magic deck of cards, Harry Potter mini-wand kit, Time turner mini-kit, Geocache marble, two trackable geogems (one Red one Blue), Travel Bug Train engine, 2 Butterbeer recipies, muggle card, and a book “Tales of Beedle the Bard” by JK Rowling.

This cache was a long time in the making, partly due to being busy, but more truthfully just procrastination. As a result I had to relocate a couple cache locations due to others that popped up nearby during my procrastinatory planning. I worked hard on this one to find cache locations that would be available year-round and still not too easy. Hope it’s somewhat of a challenge and is enjoyable. If you get stuck feel free to contact me for a hint or two.

Have fun.

PS: This park is also an off-leash dog park. Watch where you step!
