A cache is placed at a Forgotten Terminal, NANKAI SHIOMIBASHI station, from where Discover Osaka City South West Tour (DOCSWeT) begins. You are advised to read through the end of the description before attempting this cache. You are required to pay fare to get this cache as is clearly indicated by the attribute.
DOCSWeT stands for "Discover Osaka City South West Tour" as named by an Osaka native, myself Shin.jp. In series of cache listings, I try to expose you to various facets of Osaka City which you will never know otherwise. It will be my pleasure if you geocachers come visit those sites and know something more about my lovely home town Osaka.
All caches are relatively easily spotted once you approach the coordinates. Some caches, however, demand you to walk very long legs but in return you will have quite sensational experiences as rewards.
After all, you will love Osaka more than you do now. Why? Because it's such a wonderful city to discover!
Well, I must tell where the first cache of the DOCSWeT series is. You should take Subway SENNICHIMAE Line or HANSHIN NAMBA Line to get off at SAKURAGAWA station. You will find an old weared train station SHIOMIBASHI (meaning Tide Watching Bridge, so to speak).
NANKAI electric train company runs trains from here to KISHINOSATO-TAMADE, which probably many of Osaka citizens have never known. The first train of a day leaves at 6:10am and other trains leave exactly every 30 minutes afterwards. No rush hours. No special services. Every 30 minutes flat nothing else until 19:40 then 20:15, 20:50, 21:30, 22:10 and 22:45. That's it! Quite amazing for a station right in the middle of Osaka City. (visit link)
This is a Forgotten Terminal, being left far behind the urbanization having taken place after WW-II. Because of all the things as told, you will feel as if the time went by very slow here. Indeed, with the very old-fashioned looking of the station, I bet you begin to love the nostalgic atmosphere here while waiting the train to ride. Feeling like it would take forever.
A cache is magnetically attached at your chest level on the platform under the roof behind a small box. Sorry, you have to buy a ticket or use IC card to enter the gate. Please buy a ticket to TSUMORI station because that is the next stop you have to make as to complete this whole journey.
