in our disclaimer.
This cache is located in an area that requires crossing a small ditch that may be filled with shallow water. There is knee-high grassy overgrowth. The immediate area where the cache is located is usually high and dry but could be wet in rainy seasons. This is located adjacent to the Mobile River Delta so beware of possible snakes and alligators.
This cache is for serious cachers and not for the "faint of heart". This cache is called Crazy 88 for two reasons. It is called "Crazy" because it is not your typical park and grab and may require some intuitive searching. It is called "88" because it is located exactly on the 88 degree meridian (88 00.000). The 88th meridian runs directly down the Middle of Mobile Bay and crosses Battleship Parkway here. While looking for another cache, I realized that this was located here and was intrigued by this fact.
You may park a short distance away in a pull off area off of the main highway.
NO TOOLS ARE REQUIRED TO GET THIS CACHE
You are looking for a bright orange matchstick holder that contains a log only so BYOP.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT PUT THE TOP ON THE OUTER CONTAINER TOO TIGHT
Be aware that you may have to wade across or possibly jump the small ditch depending on how rainy it has been. There is knee-high grass with some briars and sand spurs. Also since this is adjacent to the Mobile River Delta Estuary, there is a possibility of snakes or even alligators so be very careful. I do not recommend seeking this cache at night but use your own judgement.
Please be aware that this cache is within sight of a busy highway and the muggle factor is high, so please be very discreet to protect the cache for future cachers.
Have fun !!!!
Congratulations to Bermudian for FTF !!!!
