Geocache Description:

3rd Annual North Central Minnesota Geocachers Pot Luck

When: Saturday, October 31st, 2009, 10:00 am to whenever

Where: Shingobee Recreation Area, chalet building

The Shingobee Recreation area is located about halfway between Walker and Akeley on Highway 34. Turn into parking area at N47°02.158', W094°38.829. Park anywhere along frontage road and walk down to chalet. Signs will be posted for those unfamiliar with the area.

Meet your fellow geocachers. Bring your coins, TB's, ideas, stories, adventures and share them with your friends. Don't forget your camera!

This year, we’ll be having a pot luck meal. So we don’t end up with 25 desserts and 1 main dish, we’d like to designate what people bring. Using the first letter of your geocaching name, use the chart to see what to bring.
A-G = main dish
H-N = salads/fruit
O-T = chips/dips/munchies
U-Z = desserts
Please feel free to bring any additional items you wish. If you’re scheduled for a main dish and your specialty is “geocaching bars”, please bring them along too! The hosts will provide the plates, plasticware, cups, napkins, coffee and cocoa. If you wish to drink anything else, it’ll have to be brought with you. The meal will begin at 1:00pm.

The chalet does not have any running water, however, water will be brought in for cooking, drinking and cleanup. There are outhouses on site, but no modern bathroom facilities. The chalet does have electricity, but unless you have an aircard, you will not receive any wireless signals for your notebooks. For warmth, the chalet does have a fireplace and if the weather continues, it will be lit and nice and warm inside the chalet. The chalet is also outfitted with tables and benches. The benches are hard wood benches. If you prefer something more comfy, please bring along either a cushion or a portable chair with you.

If you wish to do any hiking, please bring along blaze orange. Although deer hunting hasn’t started yet, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

We'll also have activities (a geo-hunt) and candy for the children.

If you’d like to donate any door prizes, please bring them along. We will draw for door prizes after the meal. If you have any questions, please direct them to either
Wixie (mflora@paulbunyan.net) or Uffda320 (xxtat2xx@aol.com)

See you at the chalet!
