Geocache Description:

An ammo box stocked with the usual goodies, stashed in a VERY special spot.

Many years ago there were two brothers, George and William Botham, who lived and worked in Nottinghamshire in England. They were wanted for poaching on the King's land and so their employer, who thought they were a couple of pretty special blokes, helped them move to Manchester and change their name to Bottomley.

Emigration happened and one of William's siblings ended up in South Australia, eventually to become my dad's great grandfather.

Dad grew up in SA, but nearly 50 years ago, he moved to WA from SA. When he arrived he was one of the first, if not the first, Bottomley in WA. The name has since spread far and wide throughout this fair state and there are now Bottomleys all over the joint.....

So, to honour the name and its history, we have placed a cache in a tree near a road that bears an awesome moniker.

Enjoy.
