Lagoons by Pontoon
Eagles and osprey soar above, a heron alights in a tree, a beaver glides silently by, turtles slip from logs into the water. You can experience this and more during one of these great expeditions into the interior lagoons of Presque Isle State Park. During the summer months you can come here and take a free pontoon boat ride. It is one of the most popular interpretive programs on the park because people get to see a portion of the park that they don’t ordinarily see. Pontoon boat rides are on a first come basis, start out in Graveyard pond and continue through Big Pond and Long Pond. This cache is placed in honor of Presque Isle volunteers, without their time and dedication to the park, many programs and aspects of the park would be seriously lacking. Thank-you to all the volunteers of Presque Isle!!!
