Contrary to popular belief, Soonerville, Oklahoma is not in Norman. It actually is a ghost town on the north edge of Lincoln County. Come and see it!

Soonerville was founded at the time of the opening of the Sac and Fox lands in September of 1891. The town got a post office when it was relocated from Flynn in 1895.

The pioneers of Soonerville founded the cemetery on "a acer of ground donated by Frank Rehm, 165 feet north boundary, 330 feet east." July 8, 1896 - "Met and layed out the south half of the cemetry and set a day this fall of 96 to fence and fix it up"
Quotes are from the records of the Cimarron Valley Historical Society.

The Soonerville school was in operation until 1958.
