Geocache Description:

Beinn Bhuidhe MhÒr is an unassuming hill, but offers a tremendous view of the inner Moray Firth. At 548m ASL (1,798 ft) it is not very high by Highland standards, but is a worthy challenge, none the less.

The route to the top is by a reasonably well maintained track used by Clava Estates, for land management, bird watching groups and, ironically, grouse shooting parties. So do not be surprised if you have to let the occasional Land Cruiser pass. That said, an average fit walker can go from car park to summit in about an hour, at a sensible pace. (nb. private vehicles are not permitted on Estate roads). Clava Estates welcomes responsible walkers, but insist that all dogs be kept on a leash at all times, for the sake of a variety of ground nesting birds. Please be considerate by ensuring that all gates are kept closed. (styles are provided)

Information notices are placed at strategic places on the lower slopes, outlining the activities of the Estate, Nature conservancy issues, and valuable information regarding TICKS and how to avoid them. (please pay attention to this, as it will serve you well in the future)

This hill should be treated with respect by walkers, as it is very exposed to the elements. Sensible boots, gaiters, wind/water proofs, day sack, munchies and most importantly – water, should be the preferred choice, as well as a good map and compass if you intend to do all three caches in this series

The cache is a nano (bring a pen or pencil) and is located in a place to allow you to catch your breath after the first part of the path.

One final note: whenever you come to a junction in the path on your way up, always take the route to the right
