APOLOGIES - previous hint gave incorrect direction (although coordinates are correct). Completely by coincidence this led exactly to another (archived) cache which I was unaware of - sorry for the confusion, now corrected
An easy walk; part of the Selby Horseshoe circular walk. Crosses the historic Selby Dam.
NOTE THE CACHE IS CLOSE TO A SMALL, STEEP-SIDED DITCH - TAKE CARE IF THERE ARE CHILDREN PRESENT.
The cache is close to a footpath that forms part of the Selby Horshoe - a circular walk that takes in the rural environs of Selby along with local beauty spot Brayton Barff, Selby Canal Towpath walk and Selby Town Centre, including the 11th Century Abbey. The footpath crosses Selby Dam (hence the name of the Cache) - reputedly dug to bring stone from quarries around Monk Fryston to build Selby Abbey.
