Geocache Description:

The Blanchard Mountain trails are some of my favorite hikes during the winter months. I am often to be found up here with Miranda (the dog-in-law) hiking Max’s shortcut up to the other trails. Max’s shortcut is a trail that honors Max Eckenburg, a man instrumental in locating the Pacific Northwest Trail (PNT) on Blanchard Mountain. His story is an interesting one and you can read more about him here.

The cache is placed mid-wayish up the hill on Max’s shortcut, a good spot to catch your breath. Coords are real wonky here due to tree coverage so please read the clue.

I don't mean for this to be tricky, if you get up there I want you to find the cache. These woods are near 100 years old so sat coverage is spotty. The cache is located across the trail from the BIG rock, in a broken stump within 4 feet of the trail.
