This cache is in South Ridge Park, one of the newer parks in River Falls. I used to come up here as a kid to walk our dogs or go sledding.
It wouldn't hurt to mark your parking coordinates before starting up to this one. The trails are not heavily used or marked in any way.
Follow the trail up the hill behind the park sign. This trail can be muddy and slippery. When you get to the top, follow the path to the right. There will be a little trail heading down off the main trail once you get within 100 feet of the cache. Take this trail. If you continue to follow your GPSr until the arrow points right to it, you will walk off a cliff.
WARNING! Do not fall off the cliff. The main trail stays on top of the hill and the cache is located in an old campsite in a flat area below a 10 ft rocky cliff. There is a small trail that will take you down and around the cliff. Beware of loose rocks on the trail and falling rocks from the cliff. There is another steep drop off on the other edge of the campsite. Use caution and its probably best to avoide this one at night unless you are familiar with this area.
The cache contains goodies and trinkets and toys. This is a good hike for kids over 5, just keep an eye on them once you get near the campsite. I had an 8-year old help me decide where to put this one. I also saw a little garter snake while placing this one.
