islander1988: This one has been muggled more than once in various locations, and it's been hard to find a good hiding spot in the area for it. The sign had worked well, but if it's now been mostly dismantled, maybe it's time to let this cache go and open up the area for something else. The cache title is also a bit dated since in a couple years Ukraine will celebrate its 30th birthday. May it have many more!

Geocache Description:

This cache celebrates Ukraine's 20th birthday, and is part of a series of caches near metro stations, this one being just a short walk from metro station Khreshatik.



On August 24, 2011 Ukraine celebrated the 20th anniversary of its independence. Khreshatik Street was active with pedestrians, performances, and vendors throughout the day.




The evening brought a large concert on Maidan that ended with perhaps the biggest fireworks display I have ever seen.





This cache was hidden the week after the anniversary celebrations, and was later moved to its current spot in a sign by an archway to another street. It should be fairly easy to find the cache hiding spot, though reaching it could prove challenging for some. However, if you stand on the raised cement by the sign it should not be too hard. The cache is a black magnetic nano that looks a bit like a metal bolt and is hidden in a unused slot for holding a sign on the sign post. Stealth is required. The sign has changed since the helper pictures were taken, but the hiding spot is the same.
