Geocache Description:

These steel silos were built by the Twin Falls Milling & Elevator Co. in 1916 as part of its extensive milling and storage operation. The silos have a storage capacity of 250,000 bushels and were the largest silos between Denver and Portland. The Twin Falls Milling and Elevator stored and processed agriculture products such as seeds and beans but were best known for flour, including the Duncan-Hines brand. The company sold their products throughout the United States and East Asia.

The mill closed in 1968; the silos are all the remains of an era when southern Idaho farms were a major supplier of agriculture commodities to national and international markets helping with the growth and development of the Twin Falls Community.

This cache is not meant to be difficult, just to bring you to a Twin Falls landmark. The Twin Falls Historical Preservation Commission is working on developing this area, please be respectful of the area and please return the cache the way you found it. Enjoy.
