Having discovered the fun involved in completing a challenge cache, I decided to create a challenge of my own. Just how loyal to your school are you?
This is a Challenge Cache based on the the big 3 teams in Kansas (well, ok, maybe the Shockers aren't one of the "Big 3", but it's my challenge, and my school, so I'm including them!)
Here is your chance to meld your loyalties with geocaching-- a challenge cache to work on. To claim this cache, you need to find and log 8 caches, one for each letter of the mascot of your college. All caches must be found in Kansas AFTER the publish date of this cache. Here’s the process that you will have to follow to complete this Challenge:
1. Create a public bookmark called “KS School Challenge" : • Include this cache in your bookmark. • Keep this bookmark public for a minimum of 3 months after completing the challenge • Include one Kansas cache for each letter in your chosen team's name (Shockers, Jayhawks, Wildcats). • In the cache bookmark comments, include the date you found the cache. Caches found before the publish date of this cache do not qualify for this Challenge.
2. Successfully find and log caches (events are not valid for this challenge) the names of which begin with each letter of your college. (8 caches) Examples: The Cat’s Meow = T
Whiskers of the Cat = W
Marmalade Cat = M
Boots =B “King of the Cats” = K
1 More Black Cat = Won’t count for this challenge cache!
One More Black Cat = O
A look at your alphabetized bookmark list will indicate whether or not you have each letter.
3. Once you complete your list, you are free to go find the cache. I am no longer requiring approval for you to snag this cache. I am assuming you are playing this game honestly, and if you're not, well, to each his own I guess. :)
4. The posted coordinates will lead you to "Tickle Belly Hill", a local favorite of our small town kids. This road is probably NOT passable after a lot of rain or snow, at least coming in from the north. Plan accordingly!
5. This cache has been given this particular difficulty ranking because I have no idea which caches you may choose to do for this challenge, it will take some time to complete, and some planning as well.
6. The exact spellings for your chosen school are Shockers, Wildcats, or Jayhawks. Each require 8 caches.
