CURRENT QUAKES IN THE AREA

UPDATE ### On 11/16/2009 a quake of 1.9M was recorded to the east of this cache. Yes just east of the cache, not west or north.

This cache could of been closer but from the
cache your going to want to look NW to the small foothills. That is
the start of the Detrital Valley fault system. A 3.9M earthquake shook the area Friday,
October 9, 2009 at 15:13:54 Local

35.96°N 114.55°W. The exact epicenter looks to be real close to
being in the national park, so no cache could be placed there but
this way everyone can get to the area and its close enough to HWY for the tourist to grab if they wish. The quake shook Boulder City,
NV and other close AZ communites. This quake was SE of Mt. Wilson and up the alluvial
fan. USGS's map puts it just at the end of the Detrital Valley faults.
