Our Holiday Shindig is for
all of our geocaching friends to meet, eat, and be merry at the
beginning of the Holiday Season. |

DIRECTIONS |
In case you forget your GPSr or it does not have
mapping software, here are some directions!
1) From
I-80/90:
Take exit 59 to the right onto (S Reynolds Rd) US-20 towards
I-475/US-23.
Take the US-20 S ramp to the right towards I-475/Maumee/US-23.
Keep right.
Turn right onto W Dussel Dr and drive west for 1.2 miles.
Take the I-475 N/US-23 N ramp to the right towards Ann
Arbor.
Get on I-475/US 23 N and drive north for 3.8 miles.
Take exit 13 to the right onto US-20/Oh-120/Central Ave. Keep
right on ramp.
Turn right onto W Central Ave.
Turn left into Wildwood Park/Ward Pavilion East Entrance at 4830 W
Central Ave.
2) From south bound US-23,
north of Toledo:
Drive south on US-23 and it
merges with I-475 S. Keep right.
Take exit 13 to the right onto US-20/Oh-120/Central Ave. Keep
right on ramp.
Turn right onto W Central Ave.
Turn left into Wildwood Park/Ward Pavilion East Entrance at 4830 W
Central Ave.
3) From south
bound I-75, north of Toledo:
Drive south on I-75 to I-475 W.
Take exit 204 to the right onto I-475 W towards
US-23/Maumee/Ann Arbor
Take exit 16 to the right onto Talmadge Rd. Keep left on
ramp.
Turn left onto Talmadge Rd
Turn right onto W Central Ave
Turn right Wildwood Park/Ward Pavilion East Entrance at 4830 W
Central Ave.
4) From north bound I-75, south of
Toledo:
Drive north on I-75 to I-475 N.
Take exit 192 to the left onto I-475 N/US-23 N towards Maumee/Ann
Arbor
Drive north on I-475 for ~13
miles. Take
exit 13 to the right onto US-20/Oh-120/Central Ave. Keep right on
ramp.
Turn right onto W Central Ave.
Turn left into Wildwood Park/Ward Pavilion East Entrance at 4830 W
Central Ave.

EVENT
SCHEDULE |
• 09:00 am - Shindig committee ONLY please for
set-up!
• 09:30 am - Outdoor caching and walk-in
volunteers welcome. Coffee and Hot Chocolate
available.
• 11:30
am - Cachers may begin
to arrive - Please stop at the registration table to pick up your
name tags, sign our log book and buy tickets for the 50/50
raffle.
• 12:00 am
-02:00 pm - Warm up Mixer, and open caching.
• 02:00 pm -
"Chili & Soup Cook-Qff" & Dinner. (1k Ammo Can presenters
and recipients please eat first!)
• 03:00 pm -
"1k Golden Ammo Can" presentations, Cook-Off results, Other
presentations, and activities, and 50/50 raffle.
• 06:00 pm -
Time to clean-up and head home!
• 06:30 pm - Time to lock the doors!

ACTIVITIES
|
•
NWOGEO-X-Word warm up mixer. (crossword puzzle)
• The Chili
& Soup Cook-Off, with top winners to be awarded $20 gift
certificates for each category.
• 50/50
Raffle
• Event
Geocaching: Temporary and new permanent caches are to be
placed on the Preserve property. More permanents abound in the area
surrounding the Preserve, and new caches will probably be placed
prior to the event.
•
Award Presentations: 1K Golden Ammo Cans, Cook-Off, 50/50 Raffle,
Door Prize, etc.
• Travel Bug, Geocoin, Sig Item and collectables
table.
• If you have found 500 or more cache finds, be sure
to sign our NWOGEO Banner and log it's Travel Bug!

FOOD
&
DRINK |
•
As part of the activities, we will have a Chili and Soup Cook Off
with awards for the winners!
• Dinner and
Desserts for the Shindig this year will be pot luck.
POT
LUCK!
• Various
beverages will be provided by NWOGEO for all attendees.

• Kitchen facilities: Commercial size
refrigerator/freezer, microwave, 2 warming ovens, 2 sinks, 2
– 50 cup capacity coffee makers, large capacity freezer, and large
capacity gas grill (gas
provided). Pavilion also has
20 outlets so there should be plenty of power for the chili and
soup!

EVENT
COSTS |
•The event cost is only $5 per person over
12.
•
One 12 and under
child FREE with each paid person per family.
This helps
cover the cost of facility rental, drinks, and supplies.
The
pavilion's capacity is 150, so PLEASE post a "will attend" log
noting the number attendees as follows:

WHAT TO BRING |
•Pot luck items (see
Food &
Drink above)
• Travel Bugs to be "Discovered",
"Dropped" or "Grabbed".

• Warm clothes for caching, caching gear, a camera, and
all of your Geo-Holiday cheer! |

WiFi |
• Although we were not sure at first, WiFi will be
available! So bring your WiFi enabled device to check those
logs! |

EVENT HISTORY |
Our previous Holiday Shindig's have hosted up to
100 people from Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana! We hope to see you all
there again this year. |
