Leawaina Nano Cache
This cache is
located near the Dukhan - Doha Highway. It has been placed here for
a very specific reason. The new highway has resulted in the
original opening in the fence to access the Barooq Reserve [a.k.a.
Zikreet Peninsular] being closed off. One now has 2 options to get
to Barooq now. Either you travel passed the old entrance and then
take the Zikreet Industrial Area off-ramp OR you take the earlier
off-ramp of Leawaina at the Leawaina Interchange.
If you are at this
cache then you are on the "new" road that will take you parallel to
the Dukhan Highway on your way to the New entrance to the Barooq
Reserve. Approximately 5 km beyond the cache location you will find
an underpass under the highway. Turn right here. At the T-junction
then take a left and you will be approximately 1 km from the old
entrance, but on the northern side of the fence.
I hope that this
cache will help you to find the "easier" route to the Barooq
Reserve in the future. If you are just passing by, then enjoy the
cache as a simple roadside cache that serves no other purpose
except to get you to stop!
