Geocache Description:

A kid-friendly cache in Wilderness Park.

From the Parking coords given, walk about a half mile on the path along the river, which gets you to within 100-200 feet from the cache. Cache is easy to find, and is very friendly for the kids. The area between path and cache is overgrown, but not difficult to walk through. A neat walk in the daylight or in the dark. Camo-appropriate, depending on the season.

The Cannon River Wilderness Area consists of approximately 850 acres of wooded river valley. The Wilderness Area is located four miles north of Faribault and extends along the Cannon River to a point about five miles south of Northfield.

Cannon River Wilderness Area features are as follows:
Five miles of Cross Country skiing and hiking trails
Picnic area complete with picnic shelter and comfort station
Well and hand pump
Laminated wood beam footbridge built across the Cannon River
Four primitive campsites
Canoe trail to the Cannon River
A self-guided nature trail has been established and several thousand seedling trees have been planted in the area.
