Bowers Mountain Cache Traditional Cache

Located west of Columbia Furnace in Shenandoah County. The first part of the hike follows an old road bed followed by an off trail hike up to and along the top of Bowers Mountain
Park along FR 92 [ N 38° 55' 30.9612" W 78° 39' 52.6212" ]. FR 92 runs between Wolf Gap Road (Route 675) and Johnstown Road (Route 608). Follow the trail to the SE until it intersects an old road bed. Turn right and follow old road about 3/4 of a mile until you reach a small creek (Poplar Run), follow trail about 100' then hike up the ridge to the right through a rhododendron stand until you reach the top of the mountain. Follow the spine of the mountain for about another 3/4 of a mile. The cache is located under the overhang of a large rock on the north side of the ridge.
