Originally placed by geogold, the cache failed to thrive, was moved to a slightly different location, became the victim of road reconstruction, and was finally relocated to its present spot, about a quarter mile north.

Along the side of Neahkahnie Mountain there are several pull offs for you to get out, stretch your legs, and soak in the amazing views. This mountain is just inside Tillamook County and is visible for miles from the south. It has a rich history of shipwrecks and even a tale of a hidden treasure on its steep slopes. Many men have looked for the treasure, just to be turned away without finding it. This little treasure is MUCH easier to find. Have fun and don't forget your camera.
Whales also pass through here and they get really close to the shoreline and it is very easy to see them when they are going through.
The cache is a green match tube.
