Geocache Description:

Cache is located at the Keahua Arboretum. From Wailua, take Kuamo’o Road (Route 580) inland through the Wailua Homesteads residential area and past the University of Hawaii / USDA Agricultural Experiment Station. Another 2 miles through what locals call "Loop Road" eventually leads you to the Keahua Arboretum.

You will need to drive, or walk, across the new bridge. There is a parking lot immediately after this section of road. Tree-lined and grassy, this is a perfect spot for a picnic. A shallow, cascading stream makes for a fun spot for kids to splash, although the water's a bit chilly. A 1-mi walking trail meanders through mango, monkeypod, and rainbow eucalyptus trees. This is an exceptionally peaceful place— Cache is tied in a niche of the northwestern-most tree in the grassy area and requires only a short walk from the parking lot and into the jungle. This area is also the starting point for many other wonderful caches, but use caution if you drive onward because you will need a 4wd vehicle beyond this point. Bring your camera and enjoy this beautiful part of the island! CONGRATULATIONS TO G-OHANA ON A GREAT FTF! ENJOY THE COIN
