This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired it I am archiving it.
Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."
Geocache Description:

The cache will take you to a park in the middle of suburbia belonging to the Northumberland Wildlife Trust (NWT)- St Nicholas Park.

This information is taken from the NWT website. This park contains a pond, wildflower meadow, wildlife garden, woodland walk and stone circle. The varied habitats are managed for local people and visitors to enjoy. Although situated in an urban location, the park attracts a range of wildlife including butterflies, dragonflies, common frog and small mammals. Winter flocks of birds have included greenfinch, redpoll, brambling and waxwing. Educational groups and volunteer groups use the activity centre for a variety of activities, by prior arrangement. The surrounding grounds contain pond dipping platforms, play features and a demonstration wildlife garden.

We enjoyed having a wander round the park with the family when we were hiding this cache. The adventure trail / obstacle course should keep little ones busy for a while too! This is a follow on from our Fencerhill Wood cache as it's great to discover places like this that so many people live near to, but don't even know about. If you are driving, you can access the park from the busy St Nicholas Park entrance off Jubilee Road (near the Royal Mail depot) but we wouldn't recommend this during the week as the parking can be a real problem. We'd suggest parking in the Princes Meadow estate where there are a couple of designated spots for access to the park.

The cache is a small lock'n'lock with room for small swaps and trackables. Please ensure it's well hidden when you put it back, as this park gets quite a few muggles through it!
