The above coordinates will take you to a location near the centre of Nelson. This is New Zealand's oldest fully preserved street. It contains cottages dating from 1863 originally built as homes for local tradesmen.
The restoration and beautification of this street included the development of new buildings which complement the Heritage Precinct status. This was undertaken by the City of Nelson Civic Trust in partnership with the residents, Nelson City Council and Nelson business houses between 1998 and 2001.
Take a brief stroll to the end of the street and back noting the street numbers associated with the cottage names in order to locate the final cache location.
A = Biddle
B = Clovers - Dillon
C = Alice
D = Dillon - (Alice + Biddle)
E = Clovers - Alice
Cache is located a short walk away from this street at:
S 41 AB.BCD
E 173 AE.DDA
Cache is located near another Nelson landmark that is worth a visit if you have the time.
Cache is micro sized so please bring your own pen / pencil. You should not need to leave any pathways in order to reach the cache - well maybe 1 step if your reach is challenged. Please retrieve and replace the cache carefully so as not to disturb its hiding place. You may find the cache guarded by a few creepy crawlies but they should scuttle out of the way pretty quickly.
Enjoy.
10/1/2010: After a few DNF's and reports of people making multiple visits to find this cache, I have added a 'visual clue' to the listing. This cache was never intended to be that hard to find. So please feel free to take a peek at the picture of GZ. I hope it helps the search.
24/10/2010: The original final location has been somewhat cleared and rearranged and the nano cache has disappeared. I have replaced this with a micro cache a short distance from the original final location and updated the puzzle and clues.
27/4/2022: The clues are revised to make it easier to work out the final.
