Geocache Description:

Muzzy Field was officially opened in 1914, which makes it one of the oldest active ballparks in the country, one year younger than Fenway Park and one year older than Wrigley Field.
Probably the most famous player who played here was Babe Ruth, as a member of the 1919 and 1920 Red Sox. Muzzy Field also was home to the minor league Red Sox from 1973-1983 and host to many games that featured famous players throughout the years.
Now the high school football and baseball teams and American Legion baseball play their games here.
It has been documented that only two baseball players have hit a baseball from home plate, over the pine trees and into the brook beyond the field. One was Babe Ruth, numerous times in 1919 and 1920, and Mo Vaughn in 1983 as a member of the Seton Hall baseball team.
There is an excellent book about Muzzy Field written by Douglas Malan if anyone is interested in learning more about this historic ballfield.
There are usually a lot of muggles in the area and we wouldn't recommend looking for this cache when a game is being played.
Cache is located outside the fenced area, no need to go into the ballpark.
PLEASE replace nano exactly as found-don't drop it!!

The following paragraph can be a spoiler but please read-

It's important that the nano needs to be replaced exactly as we have it-right hand bottom corner of sign. After getting a lot of DNFs we checked on this cache and the nano was high inside the sign-the only way we could retrieve it was with a magnet on a stick. It's small and if it falls on the other side of the fence it will be gone so please be careful when retrieving and replacing. This is such a gem of a park with all its history and we really would like to be able to keep a cache here. Thanks!!
