A site close to the single track road. Park in the rough layby (plenty of space). Start hunting !
This is the first geocache set by Skyefamily. It is sited in an easy spot to find with magnificent views down Swordale Strath and over to Beinn na Callich and the wonderful Blaven.
The cache itself is a traditional tupperware box with logbook and collectors items. There is a FTF badge for you and two adorable travelbugs set by our kids. Please help Birdy the Ladybird and Robbie the Robot see the world!
Cars can be parked off the single track road at:
N 057 12.472
W 005 59.068
Which is very near the cache site :)
Nearby is the fascinating High Pasture Cave archeological site, simply follow the path at:
N 057 12.457
W 005 58.909
Continue up the grassy path up from the road and investigate the site. You may even get to meet the archeologists at work.
After you have found the cache, if you are more adventurous, you can follow the road over the cattlegrid through the hamlet of Kilbride down to Camas Malag beach. From there you can trek on a good path the 5km to Suishnish and onto Borreraig down the lovely coastline. These are clearance villages, fascinating and haunting places...A lovely walk.
We will be maintaining the cache regularly but if you note any problems please email us at:
Be aware that this is crofting land, do not litter, please leave all gates as you find them and don't bother the sheep and cows.
We hope you enjoy the High Pasture Cave Geocache as much as we did in setting it!
