Ho! Ho! Ho! fellow cachers! I am GeoSecretSanta!
We are approaching my favorite time of year, CHRISTMAS! And it is time for one of my favorite events:
Secret Santa - Geocaching Style!
What is this all about?
One of the most popular holiday games, Secret Santa is a fun and easy way for a group of friends to exchange gifts. Let’s mix Geocaching with this fun game!
How is this going to work?
Here is the order of the events. They will be better explained in the sections below:
1. Sign up! This means log your visit as “Will Attend”. No later than Midnight, 11/21/09, please.
2. GeoSecretSanta will draw names and let you know who you got.
3. Have FUN!
4. Attend the event for the final gift exchange and a pitch-in dinner for all the Secret Santa participants.
Drawing names…
The last day to sign up is 11/21/09. The day after, I will draw all the names and send individual emails containing who you got. Sounds fun, right?
The game period…
There will be at least 4 different pre-defined locations for dropping your Secret Santa gifts -- all in the Indianapolis area. The locations will be on each side of town. I am currently working on setting these up. The reason for being pre-defined is that the locations have to be easily accessible so children can also participate. The coordinates for these caches will be given to you by email when the time comes.
Now the fun part!
The game will be played during the period from 11/23/09 to 12/04/09. During this period, place little gifts to your person in one of the pre-defined locations. There is no limit of little gifts you can give, and little gifts can also be notes/cards
(Please be mindful of which BOX you leave their gift in and how often). I am positive there are a lot of very creative cachers out there! Have fun during this time! Surprise your person and make him/her wonder who you are!!!
On an important note: Contact me when you place a gift so I can post a note in this event to let your person know that he/she should visit their predetermined gift exchange box.
The Final Exchange…
The final exchange will be held on Saturday, December 5th, 2009
Time = 2 PM.
The location is at the posted coordinates. The place is a church community room near downtown Indianapolis.
Your total spending guideline for each person should be $20.00. This should include the little gifts and the final gift exchange.
Attend the event and you will get a chance to win a variety of prizes! If you'd like to play like Santa's elves and wish to make a donation to the prize drawing, please contact me.
