Geocache Description:


This cache is second in a series of 3 Dragon Rider caches set up in relative proximity (3 caches along a hiking trail of approximately 2 1/2 hours) for purposes of promoting the sport of geocaching to newcomers on one of Hong Kong's most scenic hiking trails.

Dragon's Back is a ridge running north-south along the eastern side of Hong Kong Island. It is a very popular hiking trail and forms the Stage 8 of the Hong Kong Trail. Starting from Shek O Road and ending at Big Wave Bay, the trail offers a fantastic view in a clear day. Take Bus No. 9 to To Tei Wan and start the climb up. The initial climb requires some effort, but once you are riding on its back, the walk is fairly easy.

Alternatively, you can start at Tai Tam Gap Correctional Institution and head south. To arrive at the correctional center, one can start at Chai Wan, walk along Lin Shing Road, Cape Collinsion Road or just take the bus no.14 at Sai Wan Ho MTR station. Using this route, you miss the beach and the nice trail down to Big Wave Bay (Octopus Garden is nearby).

The cache location is fairly close to the trig-point at Shek O Peak in between a rock and bushes. Once you find it, please conceal the cache carefully in exactly the same spot when you put it back so that a casual hiker cannot see the cache easily.
