in our disclaimer.
NOTE: If you choose to pursue this cache via the mushing trails during the winter, please go very early or very late in the day, avoiding the hours of 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. LadyBugKids has provided links to an Alaska Sled Dog Racing Association (ASDRA) race schedule and a mushing trail map in his note logged 2/7/10. There is a high risk for everyone if someone uses the trail at the wrong time, as dog teams travel silently at speeds exceeding 20 mph. Thanks, BP.

The Final part of a Halloween saga.
Previously:
I had happened upon Jack's skull
his ears burning
his twisted tongue
his eye opener
his teething ring
his nosing around
his handy
Now ...
As Friday turned into Friday, I realized I had come full circle. Thing was gone and all that was before me was a mirror. As I gazed at my haggard self, I was transported back in my mind to the end of my otherworldly experience in the body (part) zone.
As I wandered through the land, I had a sense of the seasons turning. At first the leaves turned from golden to brown, then the scent of deep fried turkey and yams wafted through the air and I sensed myself close to the civilization I had once taken for granted.
Later, how much later I do not know, a voice pierced my loneliness and I thought rescue was near at hand. Alas, it was only a sleigh and 8 tiny reindeer arcing skyward with a jolly St. Nick wishing all a good night. A few steps later I stumbled upon a brightly wrapped package. Inside was a new gps with all the bells and whistles. Now I could reach out and download to someone. I could know Where I go. And, I could document my travels in this murky land.
As fireworks burst overhead, I found a deep resolve to find my way back home again. I tried tapping my heels and saying I want to go home.
I had barely thought this thought when I heard a rustling in the bushes. I rushed forward, hoping it might be a fellow geocacher. It was not a geocacher, however. Was it an ape escaped from the zoo? A Gigantopithecus or Paranthropus, long lost in the body (part) zone and thought extinct in all other parts of the world? Had I come upon Bigfoot?
No, it was none of those. What I found, however, was remarkable and unbelievable. It was Jack's foot, dancing foot loose and fancy free. And, to the amazement of my sleep deprived, famished brain, I saw this foot stomping, toe tapping, bringing together the rest of his body parts. Now he was almost whole. And with a nod at me, I knew he would be the one to search among the straw grasses of the body (part) zone for his heart, his brain, his liver.
Turning around, a fog lifted, and I saw the trail that had eluded me these past months. And as Paul would say, that is the rest of the story.
Congratulations to Cohofive on the FTF! And, you guessed correctly - I did set the cache on Halloween and had writer's block until February.
