BAT on the PNT Traditional Cache

During the winter months when darkness falls earlier, I look to the
local hikes to get my outdoor time. The trails of Blanchard
Mountain have long been one of my go to spots for a beautiful walk
in the woods. Investigating new trails is always fun and I first
discovered the British Army Trail (BAT) a few years back. The BAT
is a segment of the PNT, a 1200 mile long trail running from the
Continental Divide to the Pacific Ocean. This segment of the trail
can be walked as a loop if you park at the upper trailhead for
Lizard/Lily Lakes and walk up the road entering the woods at the
Alternate Incline Trail (there is a cache here and further up this
trail). Follow that trail to Lizard Lake and, after enjoying the
beauty of the lake and getting the nearby caches, continue on in a
westerly direction. You will now be on the BAT which will take you
through a beautiful, wooded trail (with a cache along the way).
Eventually, the BAT drops you out on to an old access road. At this
point, turn right. At the first intersection, choose right. At the
second intersection, going left puts you back on the main road
which will lead back to your vehicle. The loop is approximately
7miles, not including side trips.
The cache is a small L&L located behind a stump lightly
covered
with natural cammo. If you travel this way, I want you to get
the
cache so please look at the picture above to view the
stump. Stump is to the right of the very wet dog.
