Geocache Description:

You are looking for a medium sized lock n lock camo'd container located off of the White blazed trail within the Allen David Broussard Catfish Creek State Park. The container is large enough to hold trackables of most moderate sizes. After finding the cache please stay and enjoy the 6 miles worth of trails within the preserve. I'm giving it a terrain rating of 3.5 due to the footing on the trails, but always looking for feedback whether to up it or lower it.

Original contents include a small monetary reward for the FTF along with a stainless steel beverage container. Also in the container are the following items: Orange Vanilla hand sanitizer, SMART Technologies lanyard, iPod/iPhone/iTouch stand, Google cup, Girl Scout Cookie pin and a glow bracelet.

There was a evidence of recent equestrian visits when I was scouting for places. I came within a foot or so of stepping in said evidence. At that point I knew I had the name that I wanted for this particular hide. Hide is within a few feet of trail and no bushwhacking is needed.

Located along the beautiful Lake Wales Ridge, with 6 miles of hiking trails, 8 miles of equestrian trails, a covered pavilion, fishing, and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities in some of the rarer habitats in Florida, home to several species of protected plants and animals, Catfish Creek offers something for everyone. Park Hours are from 8 a.m. until sundown 365 days a year, so please, no nighttime caching.

As with any trip to a nature preserve, there is an inherent risk for injury. Be sure to bring plenty of water and insect repellent. Even during the cooler fall/winter months, there is not a lot of shady areas.

Please make sure the container lid is closed all the way and replace as found to provide for an enjoyable hunt for the next cacher.
