We placed this cache during a brief walk close to home.
The Monarch's Way is a 615-mile (990 km) long-distance footpath in England that approximates the escape route taken by King Charles II in 1651 after being defeated in the Battle of Worcester.
Most of the footpath is waymarked. The waymark shows a picture of the ship The Surprise, the Prince of Wales crown and the Royal Oak tree at Boscobel House.
This route is shown as a series of green diamonds on Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 maps and as a series of red diamonds on Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 maps.
If the cache is approached via the footpath from the road north-east as opposed to via the Monarch's Way then please note that this footpath runs to the left hand side of the fenced private garden i.e. don't go over the second cattle-grid.
The original cache location was rather strange as the hedge made an arc, however recently a new fence has been put in place and the hedge has been completely cut back. This meant we had to relocate the cache slightly although it is still in a hedge!
Some of the footpaths in this area run through private gardens and fields with livestock. Stiles are not dog friendly and there are electric fences - usual rules apply.
