Geocache Description:

Located in the Marlborough Forest west of North Gower.

As the title suggests there were some Scouts involved in placing this cache. They are from the 137th Ottawa Scout troop who participated in the 'Rideau Challenge' last spring that took place in this forest. They earned their Silver level by hiking without their leaders using compass and map from trailhead to camp and then camp to the finish the following day.

If you're not familiar with this area the trails are WET! especially in the spring time. Rubber boots for the kids would be a great idea so they can wade through the puddles all the way there. My hiking boots were enough since I choose to skirt the puddles instead (not sure this would work in the spring).

The trailhead is at the end of O'Neil Trail off Dwyer Hill. There is a gate that is not always open. I'm not sure I'd drive my car through the puddles even if I could! So I'd recommend to walk or ski depending on the season.

Enjoy!
