Geocache Description:

Here’s a selection from choice1’s Grab-A-Cache, GC1R53E (thank you! ). It is now attached to a remnant of the past. It’s not a significant, museum quality artifact, but when we began to geocache we were surprised to discover how many of them are scattered around the city. This one is older than most and has a connection to transportation, agriculture, and vegetation control.

UPDATE: The choice1 micro originally at the published coords which contained the coordinates for the final cache is now gone. However, the final coordinates are now on a small, metallic tag.

The area surrounding the artifact is now a Natural Habitat Reserve. It is a pleasant area to wander in and home to a wide variety of wildlife. The fact that crows gather here in the fall largely determined the location of the final (they make a disgusting mess so the cache is situated in an area that they don't favor). There are many signs that deer live in the area and a buck and doe were spotted when this cache was placed.

The final cache is a winter friendly small lock n lock a short walk away. Minimal bushwacking is required if you follow the many trails through the area.

Beware of a sizeable knee deep hole near stage 1 capable of causing a bad fall and perhaps a reason not to do this cache in the dark. Watch for some barbed wire near both stages.

We hope that you enjoy this area and a pleasant nature moment.

Congratulations to choice1 who was the deserving FTF on this cache spawned from her own! I wonder if this cache has been adopted by a guide doe similar to several other caches of ours which have helpful guide dogs!?
