We spotted this historical marker on our way from a cache run and thought it was an interesting bit of history for our area. Who would have guessed that LaGrange would have been the site of a commune? The Phalanx was established 1844 and was disbanded around 1847. There were approx 30 families living on 1042 acres. The main house was a building 204 ft long and 24 ft wide, this building also housed the school room in the upper level.
The container is an altoids container, with room for small trade items.
