Geocache Description:

You know what it's like when you drive through Newmilns. You just drive through as quickly as possible. But if aljomorton's multi cache gives you a sense of the history of the place - Turn off the A71, cross the River Irvine and a whole new world awaits you.

the old road to Darvel peters out into a track by the lodge entrance to Lanfine House. Park here (don't block the entrance) and head off along the banks of the Irvine.
At the weir, sit down and take in the view, then head off towards ground zero.

She must have been impressive in the past - A bit like Newmilns itself. But now she is dead. Was it lightning or something more prosaic? Whatever happened, the scars are still raw.
