This cache, dubbed "The Toybox" due to the prizes inside, is at the end of a 3 mile hike over mostly flat terrain that parallels a bubbling creek. This hunt will take around 2.5 hours to complete car-to-car.
I started this hike at the eastern end of Penasquitos canyon and took the side singletrack trails. All of the singletrack trails will take you back to the main trail, but eventually you'll encounter a singletrack trail that will take you into the wooded areas, leading you to the creek crossing. Try them one by one until you find the singletrack trail that does not default back to the main trail. You'll have to cross the creek to find the hidden cache. The hiding spot is a bit difficult to reach due to the twigs surrounding it, thus the rating of a 3 for the overall difficulty.
Set aside some time to enjoy this hike. You'll appreciate the lush scenery and the shade provided by the trees. This is a dog-friendly hike, provided you keep your dog on a leash.
Warning!!! The encrypted spoilers *will* spoil the hike. Use as a last resort.
