Geocache Description:

6/15/20. This cache is VERY difficult to get to now. Prepare to do a lot of bushwhacking!!! This a traditional cache dedicated to all things creepy crawly and just in time for Halloween. It's right next to one of Carlsbad's "micro" parks. You know, one of those patches of grass no bigger than your front lawn with no apparent place to park. Eventually, it will be a nice place to walk to once the bussiness park under construction is open.

The area overlooks some of the old "flight line" trails for those mountain bikers who used to ride them. Many of the trails were bulldozed to create Carlsbad Oaks North business park. The rest have been made off limits. Yes, I'm a little bitter about it. I'm hopeful this area would be opened again, not just so I can mountain bike, but because it has a lot of geocaching potential! I've seen a little bit of wildlife in the area in the last 10 years including coyote, mountain quail, horny toads, rattle snakes, and even tarantula. I’m nearly certain I saw dear tracks in the muddy creek bed years ago before the roads came through. I hope someone can confirm dear in the area, because I think I’m nuts too. Park at the coordinates of the nearby "Park Here" cache and head north.
