The Tower of Death Traditional Cache
squalid: I checked the cache today and yet again someone has taken the nano. I have had enough of that continually happening so I am archiving the cache. RIP Tower of Death.

A fairly simple nano cache to bring you within sight of a local landmark. Bring tweezers and a pen.
The cache got its name because I was wearing my Death Mask while placing it... Beware this Halloween. From the cache site you can stand in the shadow of the Johns & Waygood elevator tower, used for experimentation and testing of various elevator technologies. Richard Waygood was an English engineer who became interested in the construction of elevators in the mid to late 1800s. He is credited with several inventions making the movement of elevators up and down their shafts much smoother - of particular use in hospitals. Waygood's company was acquired by Otis in 1916 as Otis gradually built its reputation in the elevator industry. Incidentally Waygood was also responsible for a lesser known Sydney tower called "Centre Point" or something.
You can see that our one has become festooned with all manner of appendages - it is starting to look decidedly "hairy". You can get right next to the tower if you take a side street off Bay road. You can certainly drive up to it and park to view it, but we were not too sure whether this was public land, so we were too chicken to place the cache here.
The cache is placed at the nearest public point to the tower. You don't need to walk on any gardens to get to this guy, and he is not hidden in an electrical box!
